Ann was born in Milton and finished her Science degree in Canberra, where she began teaching. She has lived locally for 25 years choosing to bring up her family on the South Coast. Her sons Rodney, Barry and daughter Kim enjoyed the opportunity to grow up in such an area.
10 years teaching science, including 1 year in America, the family moved to Kiama to take on the fudge-making business, known as Gran’s Fudge. During her 17 year association with the family business it grew to employ over 40 people and established export markets in more than 6 international locations.
In her first 12 months as Federal Member, Ann has succeeded in lobbying for over $20 million dollars of guaranteed Federal funding for our region. Much of this funding is already being spent across the region. She continues to support community groups, advocate for Green Army projects, establish forums, and encourage good dialogue to get our region’s message to Government.
Ann understands the needs of many groups in our area, young adults, business owners, tourism operators, veterans, seniors and is always prepared to listen to their suggestions and comments.
Apart from being your advocate to improve local projects, Ann has the parliamentary responsibilities of a Committee Member on the Parliamentary Education Office Advisory Committee, Joint Standing Committees of Education & Employment and the Standing Health Committee.
In addition Ann is a member of the Coalition Policy Committees for Education, Defence & Veterans Affairs, Infrastructure & Regional Development.
Most importantly, Ann values your contributions and will assist you wherever possible.
