Since being elected to the NSW Parliament in 2011, John has delivered a number of significant achievements for the electorate including a new dialysis unit at Concord Hospital, an extension to the Bay Run at Drummoyne, increased rail and ferry services, major upgrades to Concord Hospital and the installation of more raised pedestrian crossings and planning for four new schools.

John fought successfully for the installation of lift access at Concord West train station and for an upgrade of the popular Drummoyne ferry wharf. He continues to lobby for the retention of the Bayview Park ferry service.

In addition, John has worked closely with local community and sporting groups for funding for special projects.

He is Patron of Handital, communities for Communities and Lucas Gardens School as well as on the board of the Italian Opera Foundation. He is a member of Massey Park Golf Club, the Five Dock RSL, Club Canada Bay, the Burwood RSL and the Abbotsford Rowing Club.

In Parliament he chairs the Parliamentary Privilege and Ethics Committee, is Deputy Chair of the Social Policy Committee, a member of the Premier and Cabinet Legislative Committee and is Co-Chair of the Italian Multicultural Consultative Committee.

Prior to his election as Member for Drummoyne, John served on the Burwood Council and was Mayor from 2009 until his election to State Parliament in 2011.

John lives at Drummoyne with his wife Sandra and their three children. He is a keen supporter of the Sydney Roosters and enjoys golf, touch football and tennis in his spare time.
