A re-elected Morrison Government will invest $500,000 to upgrade the Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club to increase the clubhouse footprint and improve amenities for women.
Liberal candidate for Gilmore Warren Mundine said the funding will benefit the entire South Coast community who enjoy the Broulee coastline.
“Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club is a vital community organisation, protecting people who wish to enjoy out beautiful coastline,” Mr Mundine said.
“This funding will go towards much needed upgrades for the club to support their increased membership and encourage more women to join.”
The upgrades will include:
  • Replacing the existing unisex showers with internal, separate male and female change rooms and shower facilities.
  • Increasing the club house footprint to accommodate an exponential increase in membership
  • Adding a small third storey above the current patrol lookout to increase beach visibility
“These practical works will help save lives and I couldn’t think of a more valuable investment,” Mr Mundine said.
Senator for New South Wales Arthur Sinodinos said a re-elected Morrison Government would help deliver the upgrades as a priority.
“By supporting lifesavers we are ensuring everyone who enjoys Broulee will have access to better water safety,” Senator Sinodinos said.
“The Coalition Government’s strong economic management and budget surplus means upgrades like these can be delivered for our region.”
