An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $3.7 million to upgrade parks and playgrounds across Shellharbour.

This commitment includes:

  • Reddall Reserve - $1.9 million for an upgraded kiosk including sheltered seating and an informal play area
  • Ski Way Park and Pioneer Park - $1.3 million for amenity upgrades
  • Blackbutt Reserve and Jilba Park - $500,000 for playground upgrades

Liberal candidate for Whitlam, Nathaniel Smith, said a number of parks and playgrounds across Shellharbour are in desperate need of upgrade.

“This commitment represents a significant investment in response to that need,” Mr Smith said.

“Our local parks and playgrounds bring Shellharbour families together,” Mr Smith said.

“It is only right that all kids in Shellharbour, no matter their age or ability, have access to first rate facilities and amenities.”

Senator for New South Wales, Andrew Bragg, said Nathaniel Smith has already proven himself as an effective advocate on behalf of Shellharbour and the Illawarra – a city and a region taken for granted by Labor for too long.

“Nathaniel is a fighter and has the track record to prove it,” Senator Bragg said.

“Shellharbour families can trust that Nathaniel will deliver for them as their representative.”

This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
